About Lisa Cooper

Lisa Cooper earned a BA in literature from Geneva College, and an Masters in Religion from The American Lutheran Theological Seminary.

Lisa is currently a Marketing Specialist and Senior Copywriter at Paravel Insights. 
She also freelance writes and edits for various publications and ministries as a specialist in creating and curating Biblical content and curriculum, and as an expert in marketing copy. 

Lisa is a formal and constraint-based poet. Her first full-length volume of poetry, ​Hasty Corporeal Ink, is now available. You can find a selection of her publications here, and her podcast appearances here. 


Formerly, she served as a Senior Copywriter and the Director of Products and Content at RevelationMedia. And for nearly eight years, she was the chief editor of The Evangel, the magazine of The American Association of Lutheran Churches. She has written content for Barna and The American Bible Society, edited for Just and Sinner Publications, and her feature writing and creative writing has been published in Fathom Magazine, The Christian Research Journal, Mockingbird, and Ekstasis Magazine, among others. 

Along with writing and editing, Lisa has over a decade of practical ministry experience. 
She currently serves her church by leading a women's Bible study. Formerly, she worked in college ministry, serving as an Adjunct Chaplain at Chesterton House, a center for Christian studies at Cornell University. Prior to that, she was a Women's Ministry Fellow with Christian Union Vita at Cornell University and a preschool teacher at Trinity Lutheran Preschool in Ithaca, New York. 

Lisa now lives in Connecticut with her family.
